Joann's sister Christine is a doctor in the Navy, and she was deployed to Kuwait last fall. We were very unhappy about Christine being away, and we were of course apprehensive about her being in the Middle East during the war. In early March, we got word at the last minute that Christine would be flying home on the evening of March 11. Joann's parents, Brent, Joann, and I all went out to dinner (after I raced home from an ultimate tournament) at Teapot, and then we headed to the airport with our "Welcome Home" sign we had made.
