Its been quite a while since I've last updated the web site. I will do my best to recap some highlights from the last few months.
April 2006: Max Changes jobs!
After almost ten years in Microsoft Research, I decided in early April to join Live Labs, which is a new applied research group. I'm still working on a lot of the same problems, and I have continued to collaborate with my old group in MSR. The decision was really a tough one because I have enjoyed MSR so much, but I'm having a fantastic time in my new position.

April 2006: Easter
Joann and I had Bent and Christine over to our place for Easter this year. Joann (a.k.a. the Easter bunny) put together Easter baskets for us all.

May 2006
Not much interesting to report in May. I sprained my ankle on May 2 playing pickup ultimate at Microsoft, and due to the fact that I can't get myself to properly rest it, the injury has remained a problem all summer. Its slowly getting better, and I now only wear a brace when playing on grass.
My schedule was very busy due to way too much ultimate. I played on the Microsoft corporate-league team (team #2), the Microsoft Summer hat league, and of course with Vince for Summer league.
June 2006:
After neglecting the single for too long, I did a lot of rowing in June. John Riley came to Seattle, and Trevor and I did a weekend camp with him out of Pocock with a handful of other scullers. As usual, my enthusiasm peaked after the camp and I rowed most mornings for the next few weeks.
Vince lost the C-pool Spring-league finals to the Cow Tippers.

With the hopes of (finally) recovering from my sprained ankle, I did physical therapy twice a week at the PRO club. The PT consists of a number of strength-building exercises, followed by ice and sometimes electrical stimulation. I'm not sure I buy into the whole concept, as I have plenty of strength in my ankle... it just hurts a lot! Towards the end of the month I saw a new doctor for my ankle and he had me go in for an MRI. My ankle is pretty messed up, but I'm going to live. The doctor said I should rest my ankle as much as possible.
July 2006
Vince played Potlatch again this year, and we won the consolation bracket of the D-pool. Not our best year, but as usual the tournament was a blast. Summer league started, and despite the advice from the ankle doctor, I decided to play the season with Vince.
This month I celebrated my ten-year anniversary at Microsoft. It really blows me away that its been ten years... the time has gone by quickly. On July 21, Patrice had a party to celebrate the event. I came in late (and still wet from rushing from the shower) because of the FTE/intern ultimate-frisbee game. The party was really nice, and both David and Patrice said nice things.
